candle care

First burn, allow candle to develop a full melt pool by allowing candle to burn at least 3 hours before extinguishing flame.

  •  Extinguish flame by using a snuffer, do not blow the   candle out to avoid soot, and chemicals in the atmosphere.

  • Before relighting trim your wick (remove the burnt top) to 1/8 of an inch this helps control the amount of “fuel” or wax that is present.

  • You can use wick trimmers, scissors, or nail clippers to trim the wick. Be sure to trim wick before EVERY burn.

  • Be sure to remove any and all wick trimmings/debris before relighting.  By keeping the amount of fuel limited, means less soot is formed while the candle is burning, and your candle will burn longer and better.

  • Always burn your candle in a draft free area (fans, a/c, vents etc.).  Drafts may cause candle flame to flicker/smoke.

  • Always be sure to have enough air space around the candle, DO NOT burn candle under a shelf, because it will limit the amount of oxygen getting to the wick and the candle may not burn properly.

  • DO NOT burn candle completely to the metal area on the wick, be sure to discontinue use when 1/2 of an inch of wax remains.  Burning past this point can cause the glass to break, which is a fire hazard.
